What the day-ahead auction actually gave. Live data

Who built this?

A one-person project, built in the evenings.

I’m Steve Kirtley, a developer and EV driver in Wales. I switched from Octopus Intelligent Go to EDF Go Electric in 2026, found there was no way to get EDF into Home Assistant, and built one. It runs my own house: battery, EV and heavy loads all follow EDF’s off-peak window, smart charging slots and free electricity sessions through that integration.

Power Perks Predictor grew out of the same work. Once the integration was tracking EDF’s free sessions, the obvious next question was whether they could be seen coming. Everything here reads public data: the N2EX day-ahead auction, national grid wind, solar and demand forecasts, and weather models.
